The New Airport Terminal Is On the Way
Groundbreaking Ceremony for New Interim/Domestic Airport Terminal at Amata Kabua International Airport
Today marked a significant milestone for the Republic of the Marshall Islands’ aviation infrastructure as H.E. President Hilda C. Heine participated in the ceremonial groundbreaking for the new Interim/Domestic Airport Terminal at Amata Kabua International Airport. The project represents a major step forward in modernizing the airport to better serve travelers, enhance safety, and accommodate growing passenger and cargo needs.
The event brought together key leaders and stakeholders, including Minister Muller, Minister Kaneko, Minister Zackhras, Minister Lakjohn, and Senator Kramer, alongside members of the diplomatic corps and partners from the aviation sector. Their presence underscores the collaborative effort driving this transformative project.
The ceremonial groundbreaking featured participation from President Heine, Minister Kendall, U.S. Embassy Chargé d’Affaires Gregory DeAlessandro, Alap Marie Maddison, and PII’s Jerry Kramer, symbolizing a strong partnership between government and private sector entities in bringing the new terminal to life.
The Interim/Domestic Terminal Project aims to provide modern facilities that meet international standards, improve operational efficiency, and enhance the passenger experience. Once completed, it is expected to boost regional connectivity, support economic growth, and reflect the Marshall Islands’ commitment to infrastructure development.
